Experience the exciting world of rocketry! We offer a fun and educational program that teaches model rocket construction & design techniques, aerodynamic forces, and safety procedures for building and launching model rockets! The program is designed for children that are new to Model Rocketry, but it's also a great program for kids who need a refresher course.

The six-session workshop will include hands-on activities where kids will:

• Design and construct at least two model rockets.
  
• Learn about aerodynamic forces and their effects on airplanes and rockets.
  
• Identify all the parts of a model rocket and learn the function of each part.
  
• Discover how rocket engine propellants work.
  
• Learn proper safety procedures for building and launching model rockets.
  
• Learn how to determine the altitude of a rocket at apogee.
  
• Have the opportunity to launch their rockets at a Lower Hudson Valley Challenger Center Rocket Club sponsored event.
  
• Learn about the history of rockets and space flight.
  
• Use a computer program to predict the flight profile of a model rocket.
  
• Learn rocket science from liftoff to recovery.
